Success Snip Series: #1 – One Step Superpower

Spring is here!

Success, growth, and spring have something in common. Spring is an appropriate name for the season when nature begins to spring up and there’s a lot of buzz and light. The animals come out of hibernation; trees, and fields spot greens; birds are singing; the bees get busy; the front yards are adorned with flowers; the sun is up longer and there’s more chatter as humans spend more time outdoors.

Success Snip Series

Spring reminds me of growth, specifically the initial steps of growing. Think of the seeds and seedlings. The success snip series shares snippets of success and personal development quotes and sayings to help you as you “bud” this spring.

As the title implies, the success snip posts will be short. I will share my brief reflection on a quote to encourage you and prompt you to reflect as well and share your thoughts in the comments.

One Step

When things look and feel overwhelming, sometimes, all you need to start is ONE STEP! There’s a hack I try anytime I feel low energy and I have something important I need to do. I promise myself I’ll stop after 5 minutes, just write/read one paragraph of the report, read/respond to only 2 emails, send a check-in text to one person in my network, do one lap around our block, take 3 deep breaths, etc.

This hack has never failed me, so pay attention. Once I start with this one step, I usually don’t stop with that small goal, instead, I find the momentum to carry on for a while longer. But here’s the fun part: once I complete that initial goal, I say SUCCESS out loud to myself (well, sometimes, I mouth the word if I can’t speak out loud) and at the end of the day, I have accumulated several successes that I am so grateful I took the one step.

Don’t stop your momentum!!! There’s no judgment – if you fall, you rise again! Even if you can only crawl an inch – you may be able to move towards that strong support, who will help you rise or better still, lift you!

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.

Psalm 37:23-24 NLT

Now it’s your turn to put this in practice – take that one step! Feel free to share your success hack in the comment below.

Blessings!
